Greetings KSHE Members,

Are we there yet? Where is there? Many of us are talking frequently about the “new normal.” What is it, and what does it look like? No doubt it will emerge over the next many months from the COVID-19 scare we have been engaged in these days. I hope many of you have been able to take advantage of the Weekly KSHE COVID Briefs that have taken place every Thursday at 12:30 E.T. Your KSHE President, Joe Taylor, suggested we start these back in March. I was amazed and appreciative of the core team that we have been able to pull together:

  • Joe Taylor – President – Recognizes our sponsors and has provided real world, just in time facility experiences.
  • Deb Campbell – KHA Infection Prevention –Updates on state and national impact as well as a number of clinical issues, concerns, and emerging state healthcare plans.
  • Dick Bartlett – KHS Emergency Management/ASPR – Updates on state activities related to ASPR grant money along with numerous safety and security issues alerts and concerns.
  • Andy Woommavovah – CommonSpirit System Director – Presents on facility management hot topics, issues, and concerns.
  • Ron Henley – Baptist Health Paducah Facilities Director – Presents on facility management hot topics, issues, and concerns.
  • Emma Merlo – CMP Management - Coordinates everything webinar!

We have also have brought in expertise from SSR in April and are looking forward to Chris Buford from UK Health presenting the first week of May.

These sessions have typically lasted around 45 minutes and are intended to keep you abreast of the numerous impacts and solutions healthcare facility management has been experiencing during these challenging times. As we move toward re-opening, our focus for May will provide topics that will help with this transition and prepare for the “New Normal.” Each session is followed by a Q&A.

We are also proud and thankful for support from industry professionals that have sponsored the webinars, including: Harshaw Trane, Critical Environmental Solutions, & Environmental Safety Technologies!

We plan to continue the KSHE COVID Brief series through May to align with the states re-opening plan. Please join us and also feel free to reach out to us with topic suggestions!
