Call for Speakers for UMHRA

What is UMHRA? The University of Manitoba Human Resource Association (UMHRA) is a group of enthusiastic students working towards becoming successful HR professionals. One of the goals of UMHRA is to promote and inform students about the HR profession and the importance of HR in all organizations. UMHRA hosts a variety of social and development events, such as monthly member meetings, opportunities to attend HR conferences, and the annual UMHRA Wine and Cheese.

The Opportunity - To enhance the experience for members, the UMHRA Executives are searching for HR professionals to give real-world insight to our aspiring members at monthly member meetings. This speaking opportunity involves preparing a 10-15 minute speech as well as providing members with tips for a successful career in HR. 

The following dates and topics are the speaking opportunities available:

·      October 8, 2013 – Recruitment & Selection for Generation Y

·      November 19, 2013 – Labour Relations: Unions vs. Non-Unions

·      January 14, 2014 – Emerging as an HR Leader

·      February 12, 2014 – New Trends in HR

It should be noted that UMHRA has some flexibility on the topics for monthly member meetings, based on the interest and availability of speakers.
