AGC Of America Offers Workforce Development Scholarships

The AGC Education and Research Foundation offers Workforce Development Scholarships to students enrolled in accredited technical schools or craft training programs in any discipline of commercial construction. Students in technical or approved craft training programs will have until June 1 to apply for $1,000 scholarships (renewal for up to two years) from the AGC Education and Research Foundation.

AGC Of America Calls On California & Local Lawmakers To Reject Bans On Employers Working On Border Security Projects

The Associated General Contractors of America urged state and local officials in California to reject or repeal proposals to punish companies and their employees for working on border security projects on behalf of the United States government. Association officials also noted, in a letter to the state and local lawmakers, that the federal courts will strike down any such discriminatory and obstructive measures.

TDIndustries Relocates To New Headquarters

TDIndustries recently opened its newly built Houston office, bringing a year-long construction process to a close. The office sits on a 10-acre property on Derrington Road northwest of downtown Houston. The campus includes a two-story office building and warehouse totaling 51,000 square feet, as well as a detached assembly shop with an additional 6,000 square feet.

Gilbane Building Company Receives Legacy Award At CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare 13th Annual Spring Luncheon

Gilbane Building Company and the Gilbane family was recently honored with the CHRISTUS Foundation for Healthcare Legacy Award. This award is given in recognition of the donation of time, talent and financial resources to help those in need.

Texas Members Show Force In Numbers At AGC TBB Legislative Day

More than 155 AGC members from across the state headed to the Capitol in full force on March 22 to meet with legislators and representatives. AGC Houston's Government Affairs Committee sponsored the event, which drew more than 30 members, including Leadership AGC current and past participants. Eight students from Prairie View A&M also joined the event, as the AGC chartered bus made a pit stop at the School of Architecture on its route to Austin. The AGC Legislative Day serves to advocate issues the commercial construction industry faces before House and Senate members and their staff. In all, the AGC Houston group visited 21 representatives and senators.

Born and raised in Houston, Tasha attended University of Houston - Downtown and has been working in the retail management industry.
