A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
It's that time of the year again -- the 2014 GTLA Annual Convention & President's Gala will begin one week from today at the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead! Featuring 14 CLE Credit Hours and a lineup of can't-miss speakers spread out over 10 unique tracks -- including Motor Vehicle, Evidence, Paralegal & much more -- the GTLA Annual Convention promises to be our premier event of the year once again. And don't forget about the action-packed social calendar, which will be highlighted by the GTLA President's Gala on Friday evening at the Ritz.

As a new feature to GTLA Members, we have added the opportunity to add your professional pictures to our Find a Lawyer Directory on GTLA.org. Here's how to do it:
1. Click here to visit the 'Update Member Photo' page on GTLA.org (Login Required); 2. Under 'Upload New Photo,' click the Choose File button; 3. Select the file from your computer that you would like to use (professional head shot recommended); 4. Click Upload; 5. Crop the photo to your liking using the on-screen tool; 6. Click Save Photo on the right-hand side of the page under the 'Preview of Photo' section. 7. This will take you back to the Update Member page. Please click Save Information in the top right-hand corner to save your changes.  The West Metro Trial Lawyers Association invites all GTLA members to connect with them on Facebook, where their TLA will announce upcoming meetings, guest speakers, community events and much more! It will also provide a forum for members to share ideas, stay up-to-date with their local TLA and personally connect with other area trial lawyers. West Metro TLA Chairman Jack Clay stated, "The strength of GTLA is fortified at the local level throughout the state. From Coastal Georgia to the mountains of North Georgia, local trial lawyer associations are thriving. I started the West Metro TLA in late 2009 and was amazed at how quickly we took off after our first evening mixer. So far, we've had six appellate judges from the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court join us and speak in addition to Attorney General Sam Olens and Congressman Bob Barr. I even hosted a premiere party at my office for the movie Hot Coffee which is about the McDonald's burn case. It was a hit! Extending our reach beyond lawyers and judges is important on a local level, too, and we make it a point to invite the media and our elected officials to our lunches and events. Guess what? They come and are curious about what we do. This naturally helps us spread the word about GTLA, it's mission, and our legislative efforts. Most of all, we are seen on a local level as a credible organization helping people and our community." On Thursday, April 24, join our Women's Trial Lawyer Caucus for a breakfast honoring GTLA President-Elect Linley Jones. The breakfast meeting will coincide with the kick-off of the Annual Convention, and will be held at:
