Amy Kane, CAE, Director, Continuing Medical Education, American College of Rheumatology (ACR), has been honored by Georgia Trend as on of the state's best and brightest under the age of 40. Amy has previously served in various positions at ACR and as Executive Director of Ian’s Friends Foundation. She is an active volunteer with Junior League of Atlanta where she's VP-Elect of Internal Operations and is a GSAE award recipient and past committee chair.
 
Lauren Elizabeth Wilder was born on September 28, 2017 at 10:52 p.m. to Jacob Wilder, CAE, Director of Communications and Technology, BOMA Georgia, and his wife Meg. Lauren was 6 pounds and 14 ounces and 20.5 inches long. Her older brother Jackson was excited to meet her, calling her "tiny" and "cute."
 
After 13 years with the Francis Marion Hotel, Karen Keys has moved on to the next phase in her career. She is now the General Manager/Sales Director at TurnKey Vacation Rentals, a tech startup company offering full-service property management for homeowners who use their property for short-term rentals.
 
The Georgia Onsite Wastewater Association (GOWA) has selected Association Services Group (ASG) for full-service management, effective October 1. GOWA is dedicated to the professional and educational advancements of wastewater professionals in Georgia. "ASG is honored to be selected as GOWA’s new management partner," said ASG CEO Charles Hall. "We look forward to working with the Board to move GOWA to a new level of service and educational programming for the membership and industry."
 
Jaqita N. Goodson, Group Sales Manager, is excited to share that the existing Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta will be dramatically enhanced with the addition of a new Sonesta ES Suites, the company’s signature extended-stay hotel brand. Luncheons in February, April, July, September and November are $39 for all GSAE members. The 2018 Annual Meeting is in Miramar Beach, FL (Sandestin) May 30-June 1. Registration fee for the first association executive attendee – $399; corporate supplier exhibit and sponsor packages range from $659-$2,909; additional attendees from the same organization – $299 each; room rates at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort – $155 run of house (before fees).
 
We need two CAEs to act as proctors for the 2017 CAE exam on December 1 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. (Meeting Expectations, Buckhead). To act as a proctor, you must meet the requirements set out by the CAE Commission.
 
Donating to the silent auction is a great way to show your support and raise funds to help continue GSAE’s mission of advancing the profession of association management and enhancing the professionalism of association executives. We're asking all GSAE members and friends for support of the Silent Auction this year. Any donation of any size will be most appreciated and welcomed – we can even package smaller donations together to create a fabulous gift basket or experience! 
 
$149 members: This survey is conducted every two years by a group of state, local and regional societies of association executives with support from Whorton Marketing & Research.
  • 1,315 associations across the U.S. participated in this year’s survey, including members and non-members of 26 SAEs.
  • Participation included 11 South, 8 Northeast, 8 Midwest, and 5 West states and areas.
  • Each SAE report features its own data, or for its region.
  • The national study compares compensation across states for 39 positions.
  • Meets IRS requirements for third party data.

Todd Von Deak, MBA, CAE is looking for association colleagues to complete this brief survey on knowledge sharing to help with his dissertation at Temple University's Fox School of Business. The analysis will be shared in aggregate with no individual responses noted and results widely shared in keeping with academic principles. The research team will make a donation of $5 to the ASAE Foundation for each completed survey.

ASAE is looking to create diverse opportunities for learning that benefit your peers’ professional objectives and organizational needs – so sessions with foundational, applied or strategic content are all welcome.
