Gleason Corporation Gleason Corporation today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire IMS KOEPFER Cutting Tools GmbH of Eisenbach, Germany from IMS Gear GmbH and KOEPFER Verzahnungsmaschinen GmbH. The company which has approximately 70 employees will be renamed Gleason Cutting Tools GmbH and continue to operate at its current location in Eisenbach, Germany, with its existing management team.
Industry Week Steel manufacturing giant ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumimoto Metal said they agreed to buy a U.S. steel plant owned by ThyssenKrupp for $1.55 billion. The agreement is for a 50-50 joint venture partnership between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel.

The Hindu India’s manufacturing sector activity witnessed an expansion in November for the first time since July, driven by rising new domestic orders, an HSBC survey said on Monday. Aerospace Manufacturing and Design Rolls-Royce officials have announced the latest version of its Trent 700, the Trent 700 Regional, will power the recently announced Airbus A330 regional aircraft.
