Transport Canada has renewed six Equivalency Certificates. Previous Equivalency Certificates are hereby revoked and superseded by the new Equivalency Certificates, which are available on the CPA website

Following its publication in the Gazette officielle du Québec on February 21, 2018, the Regulation regarding pressure installations came into force on March 8, 2018. This Regulation replaces the Act respecting pressure vessels (chapter A 20.01) and the Regulation respecting pressure vessels (chapter A 20.01, r. 1), and integrates pressure installations into the Building Act (chapter B-1.1).

The CPA is pleased to announce that the 800 series courses were recently updated and the following workbooks are now available: 800-01 Awareness Program – Working with Propane (Version 3.1); 800-02 Awareness Program – Propane Container Location (Version 2.2); 800-03 Awareness Program – Propane Use at Construction Sites (Version 2.2).

Free Access to CSA Standards

The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Directorate has published the updated Transport Canada Standard TP 14877, Containers for Transport of Dangerous Goods by Rail, January 2018. The standard covers large means of containment used in the handling, offering for transport and transport of dangerous goods by rail. ***Please note that the current 2013 version of the standard is still in force until the 2018 standard is referenced in the regulations.***
