The CPA is renewing an initiative to develop additional language regarding waterbath and other vaporizers that are currently excluded from the CSA codes.

The CPA is requesting its Transportation Committee create a working group to formulate a proposal for a pre-approved hours of service exemption plan.

The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority, the Registrar responsible for the Hazardous and Special Products Regulation (O. Reg 449/21), is consulting the industry on the proposed fee schedule for 2022.  

CPA engaged with the Inspection Technical Services department within the Government of Manitoba regarding the industry’s concerns around inspection criteria, frequency, and cost of inspections.

On April 4, 2022, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority notified the industry that a revised fee schedule for propane would be effective on May 1, 2022. This revised schedule reflects substantive CPA member input and effort over the past year to correct inequities inherent in the fee structure for propane that came into force on May 1, 2021.

The CPA and members met with Nova Scotia’s Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration Technical Safety branch division on March 30, 2022, to consult on proposed elimination of two signature green tag requirements on propane installations.

The COVID-19 pandemic situation is improving daily across the country and provincial governments are now increasing the size of groups for public and private gatherings, indoors and outdoors, based on the dwindling number of cases. Therefore, please not that all PTI expired certificates must be renewed withing 90 days of 1 April 2022.
