An upcoming webinar on the Guidance on Change of Ownership in Hazardous Facilities presented by the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development, is taking place on Monday, June 11 at 8:00am ET.

Alberta Bill 19 – An Act to Protect Gas and Convenience Store Workers – came into effect on June 1. The CPA has consulted with the Alberta Ministry and Department of Labour on the bill to confirm that it is setting parameters around the pre-payment for fuel at gas stations and other retail fuelling outlets.

On May 30, Nathalie St-Pierre, CPA President and CEO, and Hando Kang, Regional Director, Ontario, met with newly appointed Technical Safety and Standards Authority (TSSA) President and CEO, Bonnie Rose. Bonnie started in her new role on April 4, 2018. She appreciated the CPA’s early outreach and was keen to learn about the propane industry.

The CPA holds a number of Equivalency Certificates on behalf of its members and are available on the CPA websiteThe terms and conditions of each Equivalency Certificate must be adhered to at all times. 

Ongoing Consultation & Updates

For a number of years, the CPA Board of Directors has been discussing the adoption of a code of practice with the objective of improving risk management performance and elevating public perception about the safety and responsibility of the propane industry. The CPA is now looking for member feedback on the draft Reliable Propane commitment statement.
