From January 25 to 29, CPA's Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs, Mélanie Levac, attended the Cooperative Hazardous Materials Enforcement Development (COHMED) conference in San Antonio, Texas. During the conference, Mélanie was elected Industry Liaison, a member of COHMED’s Leadership, for a two-year term and Donna MacLean, Transport Canada's Chief of Inspector Education and Public Awareness, became the Chair.

The Cooperative Hazardous Materials Enforcement Development (COHMED) Program is an outreach activity of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA). The annual conference draws hundreds of transportation of dangerous goods professionals including representatives from Transport Canada, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The intergovernmental/industry conference is an excellent venue to share information about transportation of dangerous goods issues and services. Information is available on the CVSA website.
