The CPA salutes the recent announcement by the government of Alberta of $4.5 million for municipalities and Indigenous communities to assess adaptation measures and to create climate resilience plans.

The approval and allocation of eligible funds will occur on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are due by March 31, 2023, and all projects must be completed by March 31, 2024.

Previous municipal recipients have included EV charging stations, solar programs, and generation capacity programs.

The CPA will continue to advocate for propane as a low-carbon energy solution and encourages CPA members active in Alberta to utilize this opportunity to promote propane switching in Indigenous and remote communities that continue to rely on diesel or heating oil.
