CPA taking the ‘propane advantage’ into the federal election

A key activity for the CPA is advocacy and the Association is taking full advantage of the upcoming federal election to promote the ‘propane advantage’ to federal parties.

The CPA has developed an information guide that has been sent to the major political parties. It is called the PROPANE Advantage and is available on the CPA website.

The CPA has also produced other products that will be available to members should they wish to talk to politicians about the advantages of propane. Outreach to politicians works best when members lend their expertise and influence!

These products include:

  • A Candidate’s Guide to the PROPANE Advantage: Detailed policy recommendations and supporting information that will help educate candidates about the advantages of propane.
  • Political Party Questionnaire: The leaders of all major political parties will receive a copy of a CPA Questionnaire; the questions will reflect industry priorities.
  • Propane Advantage VideoA visual of the various applications of propane that make up the propane advantage, from cooking and home energy, to growing markets like transportation. It is also an excellent tool for members to use on their websites and social media.

To make it easier to connect with local candidates, the CPA has created a document that contains tabs for each of the provinces and respective contact information for the candidates. Reach out to your CPA Regional Director if you don't have access to the spreadsheet or to the material listed above.

The CPA will be conducting post-election meetings with the elected government as well as incumbent and newly elected members of parliament; Senators will be part of that outreach effort as well.
