Food Shippers of America has always strived to deliver an extraordinary learning and networking experience at each of our annual conference events. We were hoping for the same at our 66th Annual Conference in Palm Desert scheduled for February 28 through March 2, 2021.

Due to the uncertainty of the coronavirus situation, and in consideration of the health and wellbeing of all conference attendees, we have made the decision to cancel the 2021 event. We spent many hours evaluating alternatives including postponing the conference to a later date, conducting a virtual event, finding other potential locations as well as a combination of these options. Unfortunately, venue availability and timing made postponing the event not practical, and we felt a virtual event would not offer the robust networking opportunity we all look forward to at the annual conference. We are certainly disappointed as we had an exciting agenda prepared and will miss not being able to spend time together learning, connecting and doing business.

In response to the growing driver shortage problem, as well as COVID-19-related delays in CDL issuance, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration issued a final rule in December that may ease testing standards that some claim are too restrictive, but which may also open the door to an increase in CDL fraud.
