AWARDS SEASON IS AROUND THE CORNER

NOMINATE DESERVING INDIVIDUALS AND PROJECTS

The AFA recognizes its members for the outstanding work you do in the field, in the community and as volunteers of the association through the AFA PRO and Association Awards.

The AFA PRO Awards recognize AFA members who have created and installed outstanding fence projects in the last year. Multiple nominations for commercial and residential projects are encouraged in the following categories as long as nominees meet eligibility requirements: multi-use (combination of 2 or more categories), access control, chain link, deck/rail, farm/ranch/agriculture, ornamental, wood, and vinyl. From all winning commercial and residential entries, a Project of the Year Award will be given to the most outstanding work.

The AFA Association Awards recognize AFA members for their service and dedication to the industry, in the community, and as a volunteer with the association. Nominations for multiple awards are welcome as long as eligibility criteria are met. Consider nominating a colleague for one of the following AFA Association Awards: Ambassador, Contractor of the Year, Distinguished Service, Hall of Fame, Manufacturer of the Year, and the newest award, Outstanding Service. Full details for each award are listed on our website.

Awards will be presented at the Awards Dinner at FENCETECH 2020 in Salt Lake City. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, December 6, 2019.

Why haven’t you joined the Deck & Rail Institute (DRI)? AFA members can join as a Charter Member at a discounted rate, and lock in the special rate as long as their AFA membership remains active.

Get plugged in to the latest industry information on codes and standards. In addition, take advantage of publications, access to education seminars, and more.

This limited time opportunity ends on Friday, August 30. Visit http://deckandrailinstitute.com to learn more and access the member application. Contact Cristina Rodriguez at 314-561-6625 with questions.

Online registration is live for the 2019 AFA University. There will be three schools offered this year: Operator Installer School, Fence Installation School and Fence Contractor Business School. All three schools will be conducted November 3 – 9, 2019 in Arlington, Texas.

AFA offices have received a higher than usual number of inquiries about the schools in recent weeks and attendance is expected to be full in all three schools. We recommend registering as soon as possible to guarantee your place in AFA’s premier hands-on, educational opportunity.

AFA is seeking your help in bringing a dynamic and timely series of education seminars to next year’s FENCETECH in Salt Lake City.

Submit a seminar topic that you would like to present, either individually, or with additional presenters. AFA is seeking a wide array of topics that are innovative, engaging, inspiring, and informative for fence and deck contractors across the USA. Conference attendees are interested in hearing the latest trends, installation techniques, and best practices from industry experts and peers.

The deadline to submit is Friday, July 26, 2019. All completed submissions will be peer-reviewed and the AFA 2020 educational program will be announced no later than August 30, 2019. Individuals selected to present at FENCETECH 2020 will receive a travel voucher.
