AFA UNIVERSITY REGISTRATION GOES LIVE!

Operator Installer School is a combination of classroom and hands-on training for beginners all the way to experienced installers of automated vehicular gate operators. The faculty, headed by Ron Miller of DoorKing, Inc, consists of some of the most experienced gate operator experts in the country, and all make sure every student gets the attention needed in order to understand the fundamentals and know-how of gate operator installation. An optional certification examination is offered by IDEA at the end of the school.

Fence Installation School is predominately aimed at newcomers to the industry, but it also attracts more experienced installers and industry sales and support representatives who want to know the details that take place in the field. The school covers Chain Link, Wood, Ornamental, Vinyl and Farm and Ranch fence disciplines. All disciplines include field training and students learn to install each of the five types of fences.  Classroom work covers core topics related to the industry, including personal safety, post hole digging, introduction to welding, truck loading and safety, among other topics.

Fence Contractor Business School will be taking place for the second time, having launched just last year. This school covers the business aspects of running a fence contracting business.  Industry subject matter experts will teach courses in Marketing, Advertising and Sales; Estimating and Bidding; OSHA Compliance and Safety Management; Accounting and Corporate Structure; Insurance and Legal Issues; and UL 325 and ASTM F2200. The course is targeted towards individuals who own or manage fence contracting businesses, or plan to do so in the future, although the inaugural year of the course included many industry veterans who stated they gained a lot of valuable information from the school. Fence Contractor Business School can help you become a Certified Fence Contractor and CFC exams will be offered during AFA University for those who have satisfactorily completed their CFC application.
