CTA is pleased to announce it has retained the services of Commercial Truck Consulting to present the CTA's Safety and Compliance Seminars in the north, and Ric Kidder, longtime trucking safety professional, to present them in the south.  Seminars will be offered quarterly in both the north and south regions of the state, as attendance and interest dictates.  Planned seminar topics to be offered include BIT, Drug and Alcohol Testing regulations, including Reasonable Suspicion for Supervisors Training, HazMat, Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection, Hours of Service, CSA, OSHA in Trucking and Safety In Trucking.  Northern California seminars will be hosted at CTA HQ and Southern California seminars will be hosted at JJT Logistics, Ontario, CA.  CTA will provide additional information regarding seminar dates in the near future. 

In today’s Federal Register, a notice of proposed rulemaking from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration proposes new, lower fees for the Unified Carrier Registration Agreement, effective for both the 2018 calendar year and for 2019 and future years.

Last year this event raised over $40,000 for Abused and At-Risk Children in Southern California, and we are looking forward to another successful year. In association with this event, the CHP will be presenting the Safe Transportation Achievement Recognition Awards. OHK Transport (CTA Member) part of the Western Milling O.H Kruse Grain and Milling family helped deliver emergency feed to the animals effected by the floods in Houston. "In all, we’re donating about $25,000 in food and supplies, and while it may not be huge in the big scheme of things, one of our core values is "care for each other," Michael said. The Northern and Southern Safety Councils had their meetings last week. The CHP presented gave an ELD PowerPoint Presentation. Both meetings were packed with members and prospective members from the surrounding area.
