Payment of the federal heavy vehicle use tax, reported on Internal Revenue Service Form 2290, is due August 31.  IRS has asked us to spread the word that it will be giving a webinar on preparing and filing 2290s on August 15 and 16, 2017, at 2:00 eastern time both days.  You can see more details by clicking here. 

On August 3rd, the CHP’s Golden Gate Division conducted an extensive presentation at the Cordelia Inspection Facility regarding the transportation and securement of hazardous materials. The session was a follow up on a similar presentation that was conducted at CTA HQ in December by the CHP Commercial Division. In attendance for the session were CHP personnel from Golden Gate and Northern Division, CTA members and a few Assistant District Attorneys from various Counties.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) invites you to participate in a public workshop to learn more about the proposed California Phase 2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) regulation and potential amendments to CARB’s existing Heavy-Duty Vehicle GHG Emission Reduction Regulation (Tractor-Trailer GHG regulation).

In March of 2017 the Air Resources Board adopted a resolution to return within 12 months with concepts for regulating impacts from large freight facilities including seaports, railyards, warehouses, and distribution centers. ARB will hold their first public workshops on this initiative

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in two public workshops to discuss the development of a measure to Reduce Residual Risk from Transportation Refrigeration Units (TRU) by Transitioning to Zero Emission Technologies.

As you might have heard, the California Trucking Association is currently in the process of selecting industry safety professionals to teach/conduct safety related courses for CTA members.** Non-members may attend the courses but will have to pay $150 or more than CTA members depending on the course being taught.
