San Diego/Imperial Unit will have a breakfast meeting on Tuesday, February 21 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., $25 Member and $60 for non-members, at Restaurant Vallarta in San Diego.

CTA’s Fleet Safety Professional of the Year award is a program designed to recognize truck fleet safety managers whose accomplishments are truly outstanding. The nominee must be a full-time employee who is responsible for directing the safety activities of a commercial vehicle fleet.

The California Truck Driving Championships are organized to recognize and promote safe driving and professionalism in the transportation industry. This competitive event is designed to give drivers a chance to test their job skills under standardized conditions using vehicles that are the tools of their trade.

CTA provides the opportunity for your safety related employees to get involved in the North and South Safety Councils. The councils exist to serve, promote and create value for members and the industry through education, information dissemination, peer interaction, and incentive programs which inspire corporate and individual excellence and contribute to safer, more secure and profitable trucking operations and industry.

On behalf of the CTA Nominating Committee, I would like to follow up on a decision made by the committee at the recent CTA Annual Membership Conference (AMC) as it relates to the position of CTA Secretary.

I am pleased and excited to share with all of you, news that CTA's new Director of Legislative Affairs, Matt Roman, is on board effective February 8.
