On Jan. 17, 2017, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued a final rule announcing the suspension of regulatory requirements for motor carriers, shippers, brokers and hazardous materials carriers to submit registration and biennial update information to the Unified Registration System (URS). The agency cites the need for additional time to transfer data to the new URS website as the reason for the suspension. The rule was effective Jan. 14, 2017.
Every winter season creates challenges for our industry and the trucks that have to travel over California's high elevation mountain passes in order to make their deliveries. With the 2016-2017 winter months rapidly approaching, I'd like to call your attention to the Pusher Truck Program, one of the many CTA member benefits that makes a difference for hundreds of trucking companies each year as they pass the tough mountain climb on Interstate 80.

The Annual Lamb Fry and President's Night on March 2 is now open for registration. EROAD, an integrated technology and services provider, has announced a new IFTA Easy File enhancement to its Electronic Tax Management solution. The new feature is designed to reduce the time and complexity of filing quarterly IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) returns.
If you are a carrier member looking to receive the 6% discount, you should have your insurance agent submit to Berkshire Hathaway direct or through an MGA in order to receive the discount - just make sure they indicate the submission as a CTA member. If your agent doesn't have a direct access point to BHHC, they can access the BHHC discount programs through an MGA.
