California Transportation Permit Advisory Council Update

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The California Transportation Permit Advisory Council (CTPAC) met on Thursday, February 15th at CTA HQ. One of the items that the CTPAC group voted on was to reduce the number of CTPAC meetings from 3 per year to 2 per year. One meeting will be in the North (at CTA HQ) and one will occur in Southern California. More meetings can be scheduled if necessary. The  decision to scale down the number of meetings was due to continuing low attendance and the fact that the CTPAC process has been able to get quite a few things accomplished over the past few years. The purpose of the CTPAC is to provide a forum for government and industry viewpoints on State transportation permitting policies and procedures. Both Caltrans, the California Highway Patrol and industry believe that this is an effective way of understanding and improving the permit process. CTPAC representatives use council and steering committee meetings to update their members on changes and help resolve permit-related issues. For more information about CTPAC or if you want to become involved with it contact Eric Sauer at esauer@caltrux.org.
