SACRAMENTO TRAFFIC ALERT: Plan extra travel time due to highway construction

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Caltrans is working nights and weekends through August to repave the Pioneer Bridge.

The Pioneer Bridge is the main connector for Sacramento and Yolo counties on U.S. Highway 50 over the Sacramento River. Traffic lanes, and on- and off-ramps are affected from 7 PM to 6 AM Monday through Friday and throughout the weekends through the end of August.

Caltrans contractors are grinding down the eastbound and westbound lanes and will resurface the bridge with a polyester concrete material that is more durable and longer lasting than the previous resin product that was used more than two years ago.

Caltrans advises motorists to expect serious delays and plan your travels in advance. Use an alternate route if at all possible. We appreciate your patience on this matter.
