During EDGE 2019, CSCMP sponsored two military veterans, Ted Arlauskas and Fabian Espinoza, to take part in the conference. In addition to expanding their supply chain and logistics network and learning more about supply chain during the educational sessions at the conference, both Ted and Fabian completed an SCPro™ Fundamentals Certification before attending EDGE. If you weren’t able to meet them at conference, learn more about them below!

Fabian Espinoza
Fabian is a U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant veteran that served 10 years as a Supply Administration and Operations Specialist. His technical knowledge and leadership played a pivotal role in logistics capabilities for 3rd battalion, 8th Marines (Forward) during equipping and resupply operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

His experience and subject matter expertise added value to his candidacy for Marine Corps' formal school instructor assignment, where he taught and mentored future occupation specialists. Fabian received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Achievement Medal while serving.

Fabian also earned his BBA at Campbell University while on active duty. After separating from the military in 2016, he earned his Masters of Science in Supply Chain Management from California State University Long Beach, is a Six Sigma Green Belt, and CSCMP SCPro™ Fundamentals Warehousing Operations Certified. Fabian is currently working as a Logistics Operations Specialist at Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc.

"CSCMP SCPro™ Fundamentals provides an accurate and up-to-date professional development coursework that adds value to an aspiring Supply Chain Manager. Additionally, it fills in gaps of seasoned Supply Chain Managers who have not had the opportunity to catch up to a rapidly evolving industry. The fundamentals offered through CSCMP will aid you in recognizing and adapting early to distributions in your firm's supply chain."

Open to the west coast, northeast coast, or international relocation. Mr. Espinoza is actively searching to leverage his education and experience into a Supply Chain Manager/Director/Leader role. Interested in 3PL, Aerospace, Government, and Department of Defense sectors.

Ted Arlauskas

Ted Arlauskas has more than 25 years' experience managing integrated logistics, distribution, and supply chain programs. Ted holds an MBA from California State University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Christopher Newport University. He is currently serving as a Logistics Brigade Executive Officer in the California Army National Guard. In his spare time, he volunteers as a local Cub Scout leader.

"I can’t thank CSCMP enough for the great opportunities they’ve given me as I finish up my 25-year career in military logistics and supply chain management. Earning the Supply Chain Management Principles Certification starts me on the path towards translating my many years of military experience into something the civilian industry will more easily recognize. Attending the EDGE Conference gave me detailed insight into the challenges and situations of the industry and how my military experiences can be seamlessly integrated.

I’m excited to open a new chapter in my profession as I move from a rewarding career with military logistics into the civilian supply chain management field."
