The U.S. Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency offers a no-cost, voluntary, non-technical assessment to evaluate an organization’s operational resilience and practices. The review may be conducted as a self-assessment or as an on-site assessment facilitated by Department of Homeland Security cybersecurity professionals. The Cyber Resilience Review assesses enterprise practices and procedures across a range of 10 domains including risk management, incident management, service continuity and others. The assessment is designed to measure existing organizational resilience, as well as provide a gap analysis for improvement based on recognized best practices. Click here for additional information.

While 2020 and 2021 brought uncertainty, 2022 is the year for the pizzeria industry to forge new paths, said Bill Oakley, show director for the International Pizza Expo that was held March 22-24 in Las Vegas. The pizzeria industry has faced numerous unprecedented challenges since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. For many, ingredient supply could not meet consumer demand, as pizza — pickup and delivery — became a staple for many households.
 
As a dry summer looms, California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered water suppliers across California to step up their local drought responses, but fell short of requiring water rationing or setting a statewide conservation target.

The California Legislature is in the throes of legislative policy committee hearings. Both the Senate and the Assembly have until April 29 to move bills with a fiscal impact to the Appropriations Committees. Bills without a fiscal impact have until May 6 to be moved out of policy committees and to the floors of each house.

Regulatory Insights
At the February 17 Air District Governing Board meeting, the Board supported the staff recommendation and voted to withdraw the NOx portion of the district’s 2020-21 Annual Offset Equivalency Report and begin a rule development to ensure the applicability and offset requirements comply with the federal New Source Review (NSR) requirements.
 
Amidst turbulent economic conditions amplified by the pandemic, supply chain issues, and inflation, new data released March 24 by the Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA), The Good Food Institute (GFI), and SPINS, shows U.S. retail sales of plant-based foods grew 6.2% in 2021 over a record year of growth in 2020, bringing the total plant-based market value to an all-time high of $7.4 billion.
