Each year, many of Ontario’s utility owners submit their Damage Investigation Reporting Tool (DIRT) findings to the ORCGA. Historically, no medium or large municipal utility has completed the voluntary reporting, which has limited knowledge and awareness across the industry. Halton Region wanted to contribute to the organization's goals by submitting the first comprehensive reporting done by a municipality.

This CIRANO study aims to understand the risks workers are exposed to in order to better adapt awareness-raising efforts and better target prevention measures. This demonstrates that damages to underground infrastructure create significant hazards for workers exposed to it.

The Quebec chapter of the Public Works Association of America (ATPA) announces the opening of nominations for its public works recognition program.

  

TransCanada would like to recognize youth from not-for-profit organizations for committing to safe digging practices when undergoing improvement projects in their communities. TransCanada’s goal is to teach the next generation the importance of calling/clicking before digging.
 
The Youth Energy Safe Award can be earned by submitting a completed application form and a W-9 form. Once received, the application will be reviewed and could be eligible for a charitable grant of $1,000.

Pour être éligible au prix Sécuri Jeunes Énergie, soumettre le formulaire de demande rempli et un formulaire W-9. Une fois la demande reçue, elle sera examinée et pourrait être admissible à une subvention caritative de 1 000 $.
