This event is a signature event for the CCGA attracting over 200+ damage prevention management professionals and decision makers from across Canada including stakeholder groups such as municipalities, excavator contractors, oil and gas, telecommunications, electrical transmission/distribution, water and sewer, telecom, emergency management, surveyors, regulators, trenchless industries, One Call Center members, utility locate service providers and administrators, engineers, insurance, risk management operations, and others who protect the underground infrastructure and impact damage prevention. The Canadian Common Ground Alliance (CCGA) Damage Prevention Symposium is an important annual event to learn the latest information you need to know when working near underground infrastructure. Nova Scotia is thrilled that the CCGA is hosting this year's Damage Prevention Symposium at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, Halifax N.S., from November 4 - 6, 2025. This year, we've created a DIGSAFE Fund where folks like yourselves can apply to attend. We're running a campaign for donations right now that could benefit you so the fund can send a few local excavators / contractors or a nonprofit affiliate to the symposium. Apply today to be considered for an invitation to the symposium! Le Symposium 2025 du Canadian Common Ground Alliance (CCGA) sur la prévention des dommages est un événement annuel important. C'est l'occasion idéale pour en apprendre plus sur les méthodes d'excavation sécuritaires lorsque vous travaillez à proximité d'une infrastructure souterraine. La Nouvelle-Écosse est ravie d'annoncer que le Symposium du CCGA sur la prévention des dommages aura lieu à l'hôtel Halifax Marriott Harbourfront du 4 au 6 novembre 2025. Cette année, nous avons créé un fonds Creusez sans danger où des gens comme vous peuvent postuler afin de pouvoir assister gratuitement au symposium. Nous menons actuellement une campagne de dons qui pourrait vous être bénéfique. Les dons recueillis serviraient à payer les frais de participation au symposium de quelques personnes (excavateurs, entrepreneurs locaux ou représentants d'un organisme à but non lucratif). The Canadian Common Ground Alliance is pleased to share the CCGA National DIRT (Damage Information Reporting Tool) Report for 2023. This report, based on data submitted by stakeholders from across the country, presents the state of damage prevention in Canada by analyzing information on infrastructure damages that occurred in 2023. The report shows another year of reduction in overall damages, the fifth year in a row that we see this promising performance!
