Don't Miss Feature

Over the past month, I have had the opportunity to talk with and meet with dozens of members from across the Nation. If there is one thing I’ve learned during this time, is that we are a community. Folks I have met along the way could not be more welcoming; and many have relayed their desires for our industry and what they see as a successful future for AACS.

Do you have valuable information that would help school owners and managers with current issues they are facing? Have you had success in your admissions and marketing plan, even as other schools have seen a downturn in enrollments? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
The AACS Convention Committee is now seeking speaker applications for the AACS Annual Convention & Expo at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista this November 4 – 7, 2016. The application deadline is July 11 so please act now to submit your application.

The AACS/CEA Events App is now live in the iOS and Google Play app stores. Here is how you can get connected and start planning your convention experience.

Upcoming Events (old)

The Friday and Saturday rates for our host hotel, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, have increased. Not to worry! You can now get the negotiated rate of $149 single/double for all nights at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. If you want to secure a room at Bally’s, click here, or call 800-358-8777. Use group code SBAAC6.
If you prefer to still stay at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, you can do so here with a slightly higher rate on Friday and Saturday nights. And if you have not yet signed up to attend the CEA & AMP Convention for beauty and wellness educators and admissions/marketing professionals, please click her to register.

Government Relations

The week of July 4th finds only two state legislatures — Massachusetts and Pennsylvania — in session. There was some activity last month in Rhode Island, California and New Hampshire that you will find in this week’s state update.

Yesterday we received some good news, and given this latest development, we will be requesting your Call To Action support in the very near future. Maybe it is fitting that the news came out this week, so in the spirit of true democracy we announce the following: On Wednesday, the House Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Subcommittee released a copy of their Fiscal Year 2017 Appropriations proposals, which will be marked up in the Subcommittee today – July 7, 2016.
