Dream Shears just launched a brand new scholarship competition exclusive to AACS member schools' new students. Applicants must have a start date after July 16, 2014, but need to be already enrolled in school. Three winners will be awarded a $500 scholarship. Click here for the application. The Beauty Changes Lives foundation has a bunch of different scholarship competitions opening this summer. Massage, nail and cosmetology scholarships will open starting next month. The CEA Annual Convention is the nation’s largest event for beauty, skin and wellness educators. This year’s convention, July 25–28, will be in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Register by Friday (June 27) before the rates increase. CEA will even feature an exciting Battle of the Strands competition! We’ll also have methodology, motivational and technical skills training for educators who are ready to learn new skills to take back to the class. At this year’s AACS Annual Convention, November 14–17, we’ll be celebrating 90 years of representing beauty and wellness education. Do you have pics from your school or company that date WAY back? Yesterday the U.S. Department of Education officially provided notice of their intent to once again delay implementation of the State Authorization regulations under Section 600.9 for another year till July 1, 2015. In the Department's notice, they make it clear that the delay only protects institutions overseen by state agencies, "so long as the State is establishing an acceptable authorization process that is to take effect by the delayed implementation date."
