Our goal with the 2017 AACS Annual Convention & Expo is to look towards the future and determine what can be done now to lift our schools to new heights.

In this endeavor, we will be inspired by the challenges of the past, but move forward with tools and strategies to bring schools up.  Has it been a while since you felt hopeful about your school's future? This is the year we will change that.

The 2017 AACS Annual Convention & Expo will be one of our most important meetings yet. From our Annual Meeting of the Membership, By-Laws Vote, and Board of Directors Election, you want to make sure you are in attendance this year.

Reimagine a new way to engage. Reimagine a new way to participate in your Association. In fact, reimagine an entirely new Association altogether.

In California, Governor Jerry Brown recently signed both SB 547 and AB 326 into law.  As previously reported, SB 547 includes language clarifying the supervision required of a cosmetology, barbering, skin care, nail care or electrology apprentice by defining "under the supervision of a licensee."

Florida’s House Commerce Committee conducted a hearing Tuesday on HB 15, which would reduce the number of hours of training for barbers and restricted barbers from 1,200 to 600 for barbers and from 1,200 to 325 for restricted barbers.

In the State of Washington, final rules clarifying requirements for initial school licensure, facilities, school closure, school catalogs, enrollment contracts, and cancellation and refund policies were recently published in the Washington State Register and become effective October 13, 2018.
