The application window for the Spring 2017 Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship "Basic" Competition is closing soon. Applications are being accepted through Monday, March 6, 2017. Six winners will receive 50 percent tuition scholarships (up to $10,000) towards their cosmetology education. As we begin March, there are 44 state legislatures actively meeting. On February 25, the Virginia General Assembly became the first legislature to adjourn sine die in 2017. Additionally, there are two states – Colorado and Indiana – with crossover deadlines this week by which bill needs to be approved by their chamber of origin to remain viable. Texas, Utah, Montana, West Virginia, Mississippi, North Dakota and Kentucky all have activity this week and you can read more in this week’s State Relations Update.
