Spring scholarship application season continues with another Beauty Changes Lives Scholarship application opening soon. Monday, February 6 marks the launch of the Spring 2017 CND Tippi Hedren Scholarship Competition. Applications will be accepted through April 3, 2017. This season, the competition is awarding five nail scholarships valued at $2,570 to students who are less than halfway through their nail program at an AACS member school. Students may apply via inspiration board or online video. Additional information is available here.

Just hours after President Trump became our nation's 45th President, he took time out of the Inaugural festivities to sign an Executive Order, which he stated was intended minimize the impact of the health care law.
As the President was publicly signing the order, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus issued a memorandum to all executive departments and agencies calling upon them to freeze new or pending regulations, giving the new administration time to review them.
While Oklahoma was not one of the 40 state legislatures actively meeting this week, last Thursday was the state legislature’s filing deadline for 2017 bills. There were a number of bills filed that are of interest to beauty and wellness schools. You can learn more about these and other state activities in this State Relations Report.

Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, AZ, will be the location of this workshop designed specifically for beauty, wellness and barber school owners. There will be a kick off reception on evening of May 4, and two full days of education including in depth discussions on issues important to the future of the beauty education industry.
