COMPLIANCE REMINDER: Submit Your GE Program Data to the Department

Deadline for all institutions of higher education with programs subject to the existing gainful employment regulations are required to submit gainful employment data for the 2017-2018 Award Year to the National Student Loan Data System by Monday, October 1, 2018.

As detailed in Electronic Announcement #117, institutions can submit the information through one of the following:

  • GE online reporting option under the Enrollment tab of the NSLDS Professional Access website
  • The GE batch file submission option through the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG)
  • NSLDS Gainful Employment Spreadsheet Submittal Format online upload option

AACS continues to seek revocation of this regulatory requirement.  In our response to the Department’s request for comment on the GE Notice of Proposed Rulemaking we requested that based upon the Department’s clear intent to rescind the eligibility requirements debt-to-earnings metrics, but the request for this data was moot.  We are also in the process of working with Congressional offices to relay the same message to the Department.  AACS will continue to update you on our progress throughout the week.

Despite the fact that such data may never be used to determine debt-to-earnings metrics, the regulatory data reporting requirements remain in effect for Monday, October 1, 2018.
