BOMA established the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) in 1970 to fill a perceived gap in property management education, developing the well-respected Real Property Administrator (RPA), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT) and Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) programs, which have graduated thousands of career professionals over the years.
