PHTA Codes staff has been working through a proposal submitted in the current 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC) and state code cycles to eliminate the single copper wire method for perimeter bonding. This is a long-standing situation that PHTA has opposed alongside allies including the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).

PHTA has issued a call for participation on the Standards Consensus Committee (SCC), PHTA’s official consensus voting body. The SCC is responsible for reviewing and voting on all pool, spa, and hot tub standards to be approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Members of PHTA’s SCC are classified into one of four interest categories: Producer, User-Government, User-Consumer, or General Interest.

For the first time ever, the Dr. R. Neil Lowry Grant will be presented during the World Aquatic Health Conference! The grant will be awarded during the Awards & Welcome Reception on Wednesday, October 12, in Houston, Texas.

Grant nominations are accepted from public health officials/entities and from PHTA members. The submission deadline is August 12, so you still have plenty of time to nominate an individual or department for this $5,000 grant.
