PHTA Arizona Chapter Updates

The Southern Arizona chapter hosted a golf tournament on October 29 in Tucson. A portion of the funds raised will be donated to the YMCA of Southern Arizona for swimming lesson scholarships. Their tabletop event is scheduled for December 8. The last one was held in 2016! There is a lot of excitement in the Tucson pool community about the return of this event.
Both the Central and Southern Arizona Chapters participated in their local Arizona Construction Career Days. Roughly 9,000 kids came through the events. Contacts were made with the CTE instructors for our members to visit their classes and discuss pool career opportunities in detail and teach some basic skills.
An Arizona virtual drought town hall follow-up meeting was held last Thursday with 30 attendees. The chapters are fundraising to hire lobbyists. Contact Susan Kregar at skregar@phta.org to donate to the fund.
