Aquatics Industry Celebrates Lifeguards:  First Responders Keeping Patrons Safe, Risking Their Own Lives for Swimmers Around the Globe

New Contest Awards “Hero Spot” on the Official International Lifeguard Appreciation Day Website

ORLANDO, FL (July 27, 2021) – Launched in 2020 as a way to boost awareness of the hard work aquatics facilities and lifeguards do to offer recreation and exercise to a pandemic-weary public, Ellis & Associates (E&A) celebrates the second annual International Lifeguard Appreciation Day with a new contest.

In partnership with aquatic facilities around the globe, E&A will be awarding a yearlong spot on the official International Lifeguard Appreciation Day website and a swag bag from Water Safety Products to the winning facility. Easy entry instructions can be found on the official website, open to all aquatic facilities.

International Lifeguard Appreciation Day is designed to celebrate and thank the hundreds of thousands of professional lifeguards that make it their mission to work while others play. Aquatic facility managers, parents and guests are encouraged to take time to thank the lifeguards on duty at their pool, beach or water park and give them the greatest gift - follow the facility rules, keep an eye on children and weak swimmers, and willingly follow lifeguard instructions.

“Lifeguards are the frontline heroes of the beach, pool, lake and water park,” said Richard “RAC” Carroll, aquatics industry leader and COO of Ellis & Associates. “They are first responders – trained and certified to assist swimmers and perform life-saving measures when necessary, often putting their own lives at risk.”

Any pool or aquatic facility operator can visit the official International Lifeguard Appreciation Day website to find downloadable graphics and ideas for recognizing their lifeguards and aquatics staff.
