A recent ruling by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) expanding the definition of "joint employer" has received broad coverage in the media, with many commentators predicting a significant negative impact on various businesses, such as franchisors and staffing agencies. Only time will tell if those dire predictions will materialize, or even if the NLRB ruling will be upheld by the federal courts, but in the meantime it is highly unlikely this case will have an impact on AMCs and their association clients.

Accreditation Program

Date: December 1, 2015
Time: 1 p.m. EST

To maintain the high quality and integrity of AMCI accreditation, the AMCI Accreditation Task Force has developed an online training program on the audit process and how onsite review is conducted by auditors. This one-hour program will highlight tips on creating an environment where the reviewer's visit and engagement can be approached in a consistent format, creating efficiency for all involved.

AMCI members – Reach out to the CPA who does your reviews and share the registration link with them. This is also a great opportunity for staff involved with accreditation to learn the review process from the auditor's perspective.

The revised AMCI/ANSI Standard became effective this year on January 1. All accredited firms should be adhering to the new Standard. Even firms that are not up for re-accreditation this year should be following the revisions as the new Standard applies to all accredited companies.

It is important for all of your staff to be familiar with the revisions in order to adapt your corporate policies and procedures for compliance. Don't wait until your re-accreditation year to start your updates.

AMCI offers a concise summary on the important changes that went into effect this year, in addition to the complete Standard.
If you have any questions, contact the Accreditation Manager, Janine Oney-Schmitt at joney-schmitt@amcinstitute.org or 571-527-3108 ext.130.
