For those of you unfamiliar with it, Paper.li is a free, cloud-based online service that "organizes links shared on Twitter into an easy to read newspaper-style format." Paper.li automatically generates the feeds from your Twitter users, lists or hashtags into a homepage that that looks like a newspaper with different content sections.

We were really pleased to see some of the content we generated and curated as part of the Australia Society of Association Executives, Plan an Event, Ottawa Gatineau CSAE, and Aaron Wolowjec’s paper.lis. It gives us some indication of the usefulness of our efforts.

Opinions on paper.li vary widely. Some people believe it’s no better than spam. Others think it is a great way to connect and expand your reach.

At the end of the day, it’s another case of what you put into it is what you’ll get out of it. Generating a paper.li is simple, but the best way to make it effective is to be clear about your editorial point of view so that its value will become clear over time. Taking care with the content you curate and ensuring you’re highlighting content that builds connections can ensure that paper.li is an impactful tool in your content marketing arsenal.
