AHVAP Joins Forces with Coalition for Health AI

AHVAP has been regularly engaging with the United States Department of Health and Human Services to build regular dialog concerning relevant topics to our specialty. As part of this ongoing relationship, the role of AI in our specialty continues to become a pressing issue for value analysis and healthcare in general. 

I am pleased to announce today that AHVAP is now an official partner with the Coalition for Health AI. The goal of the Coalition for Health AI is to develop “guidelines and guardrails” to drive high-quality health care by promoting the adoption of credible, fair, and transparent health AI systems. In the coming months, the AHVAP Education and Clinical Practice Committee, chaired by Sharon Roberts, will begin work on an official Position Statement on the hot topic of AI. We expect this new Position Statement to be released at the upcoming Annual Conference. 

In addition, we will be hosting a monthly webinar with an external AI expert and academic faculty member to provide AHVAP members with a primer on the possibilities of AI. Stay tuned for details on this upcoming educational program in your inbox. There are several new AI tools now available on the AHVAP Resource Center for your reference. Make sure to take a moment to check out these new resources. 

As part of our ongoing 5-Year Strategic Plan, AHVAP will continue to invest in mutually beneficial partnerships that advance both our specialty and ensure the protection of the patients that we serve. We look forward to sharing even more partnerships with you over the course of this year!
