What an incredible July for AHVAP! I hope everyone had a wonderful Value Analysis Week and celebrated the vital work you do every day. AHVAP had some exceptional programming throughout the week. I hope you were able to tune in to learn something from peers and earn CE credits. In addition to the educational activities, AHVAP held an inaugural book club meeting where we discussed “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. Next month, we are diving into “The Power of Discipline” by Daniel Walter. The Board of Directors also unveiled AVAHP’s five-year strategic plan. This plan covers professional development, educational enrichment, membership recruitment, growth, and sustainment, as well as securing a seat at the Board and Executive table, stakeholder outreach, and external collaboration. As if this wasn’t enough content, when I cannot think it will get better, it does. AHVAP released its first position statement on defining Healthcare Value Analysis as a specialty. I hope you have had a chance to read the document and share it with your peers, colleagues, and leadership teams.

Where do we go from here? Grapevine, Texas. AHVAP’s 2023 Annual Conference and Industry Partner Expo is scheduled for September 25 – 28th at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center. Our conference committee curated an agenda filled with fantastic networking opportunities and inspiring educational sessions. Developing and implementing human factors checklists, evidence-based standards, implementation of best practices in surgical products, and implementing a strategic process for clinical and supply chain value analysis are just a few of the poignant topics your peers will be discussing. I hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Anne Marie Orlando, MBA, RN, RCIS, CVAHP™
