Dear AHVAP Members,

I hope you all enjoyed Value Analysis Week and had an opportunity to celebrate all your accomplishments and savings goals this year. The AHVAP webinars we hosted shared some amazing perspectives and strategies to help you all in your day-to-day activities. I want to thank all our presenters for sharing their collective wisdom and expertise with our members. We also unveiled our five-year strategic plan, which your AHVAP Board of Directors collectively worked very hard on. This plan is innovative, progressive, and going to position AHVAP for sustained growth that meets your needs as well as your organizational and professional goals. During Value Analysis Week, I had the opportunity to attend the HealthTrust University Conference where I connected with good friends and met new acquaintances. I truly appreciate being with our colleagues, peers, and experts in the field sharing some of their best-in-class initiatives and processes with the greater community. We are all in this together trying to make healthcare better.

Recently, I was notified by Terri Nelson, our Central Region Director that she was resigning effective immediately from the AHVAP Board of Directors due to her increased work responsibilities that prevent her from fully executing her duties as a Board Member. I have acknowledged her resignation with my sincere appreciation of her Board Service. In the meantime and in accordance with the organizational bylaws, I will appoint an interim replacement to fill her vacated position and ensure that person brings the right skill set to our Association’s Strategic Plan. This individual, once appointed, will complete Terri’s term of office, which ends December 31, 2024. We have sent out an application to the Central Region for interested candidates to apply before August 4, 2023, at midnight ET. If you have any questions about this position, please feel free to email info@AHVAP.org. As soon as I have an update on my appointment, I will provide you all with another update.

I hope you are enjoying the Summer, and I will leave you with these inspirational words of wisdom from the late, great John Wooden:

Slow and Steady Gets you Ready

“When you improve a little each day, eventually big things occur. Don’t look for the big, quick improvements. Seek the small improvement one day at a time. That’s the only way it happens — and when it happens, it lasts.”

Try to stay cool and enjoy the summertime!

Kind Regards,

Elizabeth Eisenberg, MSN, RN, CVAHP™
2023 AHVAP President
Board of Directors
