Dear AHVAP Members,

Can you believe that it is July already? Summertime is here! The weather has finally been beautiful here in San Diego after the May “grey” and June “gloom” marine layer has subsided. This past month, I have started spending a few early Sunday mornings on the Torrey Pines hiking trail with good friends, exploring different trail paths, getting well needed exercise, and breathing in that salty Pacific Ocean air. It has been a rejuvenating way to start the morning and has allowed me time for reflection, appreciation, and inspiration. I have also been busy spending time in my vegetable garden tending to the tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, carrots, and lettuce plants. It is so much fun watching them flourish no matter what the weather is like. It is these kinds of healthy self-care activities that I have found to be vital to stay adaptable, focused and respond thoughtfully instead of reacting to our ever-changing environment. I hope you get a chance to start to a new and rejuvenating activity this month too.

The supply chain industry continues to be plagued by product disruptions, shipping delays, pharmaceutical shortages, and raw material sourcing challenges. Organizations that can pivot quickly and adapt to its environment is one that will be able to survive in the long term. Our landscape is constantly evolving, and organizations that keep up with these changes are likely to be better positioned to succeed. As I think about this, AHVAP has gone through some significant changes this past year, and I am so proud to see all the positive member-centered benefits being implemented. We embarked on a courageous journey to advance our profession, our certification, the professional development offerings, and support to our most valuable asset, our AHVAP members. The AHVAP Board of Directors has acted swiftly and made key decisions that directly impact and benefit your growing professional needs. We continue to listen to your suggestions, your thoughtful ideas, and want you to get the most out of your membership. We appreciate you! Please continue to provide us with your valuable feedback at info@ahvap.org.

Enjoy the summer!

Kind Regards,

Elizabeth Eisenberg, MSN, RN, CVAHP™
