March CVAHP Committee Updates

The CVAHP committee members have hit the ground running. Work teams are forming and beginning work on the 2022 CVAHP Committee Goals. CVAHP Work team descriptions, team leaders and updates listed below.

1. Maintain accreditation of the CVAHP certification

Conduct Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals job analysis under the direction of Prometric, our Certification service. Periodic reassessment of the profession is required to maintain our certification. With this information, we can identify practice changes that may have occurred since the original Job Analysis conducted in 2014-2015 and make adjustments to the certification exam.

Team Leader: Andrew Kaiser
Update: Meeting with Prometric scheduled to review the work and timeline. Next step is to identify VA Professionals for interviews and 10-12 team members.

2. Review/Revise fees for CVAHP Certification Exam, Renewal, Reinstatement and Certification Education.

Team Leader: TBD
Update: Recruiting a team leader. This work will begin after the migration to the new web platform.

3. Submit application for CVAHP certification to be included in a listing of recognized certifications for hospitals applying for Magnet status.

Team Leader: Karen Niven
Update: Next step is to contact the NCAA for information about requirements.

4. Prepare and present the CVAHP Prep Workshop at the Annual Conference

Team Leader: Karla Barber
Update: This preconference session is tentatively scheduled to be offered Thursday morning immediately prior to the beginning of the Annual Conference. Next step is to confirm presenters.

5. Create a 2022 Supplemental Healthcare Value Analysis Course

Team Leaders: Anne Marie Orlando, Karla Barber
Update: In the process of scheduling the initial work team meeting.

6. Increase total number of CVAHP Certifications by 12% with a stretch goal of 20%

Team Leaders: CVAHP Committee Chair and Co-Chair
Update: Called for CVAHP certified representatives from each District to promote certification to the members of their region.
