Dear AHVAP Members and Affiliates,

It was awesome to reconnect at the 2021 AHVAP National Conference and Supplier Showcase in Scottsdale, Arizona, October 27-29, 2021, and be able to listen to such wonderful educational sessions in a safe environment as AHVAP speakers delivered on the 360° Change: Developing a Resilient Culture. A special thank you goes out to Gore and Associates for keynote sponsorship for Dr. Randy Bradley who opened the conference with an exceptional presentation, providing attendees with tips to “LERC” (Lead, Educate, Respect and Change) and discussing the vulnerabilities that we are experiencing within our environment. All presenters delivered great presentations on value analysis initiatives and projects for members to take back deliverables to their organization. The Supplier Showcase of Platinum and Gold Sponsors had great participation and delivered that one-to-one connection with Value Analysis and Supplier Chain professionals.

In addition, AHVAP’s 2021 Board of Directors presented an overview of the annual value propositions, strategic initiative accomplishments and Committee deliverables to members and an honorable acknowledgment for a great colleague and mentor, 2020 Past President Laura Polson, for her virtual accomplishments throughout 2020. I’m also very proud of my colleague’s dedication and accomplishments in their roles as AHVAP’s Committee Chairs, Co-Chairs and committee members for their committee goals and dedication to bring forth the quality education sessions, programs and events to members and affiliates that are crucial to our profession.

We recognized 2021 outgoing Board Members, Karen Niven, Southeast Region Director, Jeffiny Shutts, Central Region Director, Shannon Hicks, Secretary, and Laura Polson, Past President, for their quality voluntary dedicated contributions in these positions. We thank you for all the support and devoted time to AHVAP as you make Value Analysis a practice and a profession! The 2021 Brooke Berson was awarded to 2015 AHVAP Past President Beth Potter. We can’t thank Beth enough for your expertise over the years with AHVAP’s Certification program along with her dedication, continuous support and voluntary services to every AHVAP Committee and bringing AHVAP to national recognition. Congratulations Beth, what a special honor and so very well-deserved!

2022 will be even more exciting as AHVAP has plans to continue to increase its membership, strategically work on incorporating educational programs for future Value Analysis Professionals and integrate the 2022 AHVAP conference theme “Together in Value” into AHVAP’s Committee Directives. Incoming AHVAP President Liz Eisenberg has fantastic energy and great ideas for 2022. Keep a watch out for Liz’s communications as she transitions into her new AHVAP role and we give her a warm welcome as incoming 2022 AHVAP President.

With good health,

−Susan Toomey, BSHA, CVAHP, CMRP
