Sue Miller reported on our progress toward the strategic initiatives originally identified in 2016 at this year’s annual Board Meeting. The 2020 initiatives and the on-going initiatives are listed below.

Engagement by our members at the District and Regional level will play a key role in moving the organization forward on the national stage. Networking with industry and professional peers provides an opportunity to inform about the role of healthcare value analysis in achieving identified patient outcomes at the best cost.

I’m so excited to get started as the 2020 president of AHVAP! Having the honor of serving on the Board for the last three years as Northeast Region Director and President Elect has shown me what a dedicated group of volunteers can accomplish with their talents and a little of their time.

Together with you, we’ve been successful meeting the goals in the first two phases of AHVAP’s 2018 -2020 Strategic Plan. This third phase is one which will position our professional organization on the national stage as the leading resource for health care value analysis professionals!

I’ve always had a great passion for the value analysis process and how it can transform health care. This year, the new district leadership opportunities can support additional education with administrators, physicians and clinicians. It will allow us to expand our networking capabilities on a local level and reach more value analysis professionals than ever before. This will not only build the future leadership of AHVAP, but can grow strategic partnerships with other national organizations such as AORN.

We’re already working hard to get this year’s national conference to a new level, so please plan to join us October 21-23 in Scottsdale, Arizona!  I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you better and serving your AHVAP needs in 2020!

Sincerely,

Laura Polson, BSN, RN, CVAHP, AHVAP President
