Integrate career pathways in some of healthcare’s hardest-to-fill support roles through Healthcare Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Programs (IRAPs). If your organization struggles with recruitment or retention, integrating this open-source model into your facility, for free, should be a top priority. Right now, the first 20 Early Adopters of the IRAPs will be eligible for up to $10,000 in support per location as we launch the programs nationwide. These funds can be used at your discretion to administer, incentivize, integrate or promote the program to hire and/or grow the careers of candidates for your hard-to-fill roles.

The millions of caregivers and team members at our hospitals and health systems are counted among the ranks of those who have worked hard to make our nation stronger and our citizens healthier. The CEOs of approximately 300 healthcare companies collectively took home more than $4.5 billion in 2021, according to a STAT analysis of hundreds of financial filings. Although $4.5 billion is only 0.1% of the $4.3 trillion U.S. health care economy, it still represents a vast amount of wealth for a small class of executives that wields enormous control and influence over the healthcare system.

Modern Healthcare

Each day, thousands of patients get a call or letter after being discharged from U.S. hospitals. The questions focus on what might be termed the standard customer satisfaction aspects of a medical stay, as hospitals increasingly view patients as consumers who can take their business elsewhere. But other crucial questions are absent from these ubiquitous surveys, and some researchers say that’s a major oversight.
