Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,

During our most recent Executive Committee meeting, we were able to take a break and talk about what we are dealing with in our respective states, from vaccines to regulations. We discussed our organizations’ varied approaches to meeting existing needs and how we plan to respond. We had the opportunity to speak and collaborate with our fellow health care HR professionals — a primary reason for being ASHHRA members. I highly recommend taking advantage of ASHHRA Exchange and connecting with your fellow ASHHRA members — whether that’s by asking your questions or responding to other posts. It’s a simple way for us to support each other.

Another important topic for discussion is the 2022 annual conference. ASHHRA is preparing for an in-person event in the spring of 2022 and we will be announcing these details VERY soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to be notified about when the Call for Abstracts opens up, sign up here.

Speaking of the conference, we are looking for volunteer leaders to serve on the Annual Conference Education Committee (ACEC) for 2022. Among the responsibilities of the ACEC is curating the abstract submissions for the annual conference. The deadline to apply for this committee is Nov. 17, so consider applying today. Learn more about this opportunity here.

We appreciate your continued support for ASHHRA and allowing us to continue supporting you.

Carl McDonald, MSHRM, PHR, SHRM-CP
ASHHRA President, 2021
