Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,
Greetings and welcome to autumn. I hope this finds you and your family, both home and work, doing well as we continue to wrestle the pandemic. Slowly but surely we are winning the battle, but let’s hope we don’t see a large spike after the Labor Day weekend.
A great big ‘THANK YOU!’ to all of you who attended the ASHHRA20 Virtual Conference. According to preliminary results, it was a great experience for attendees. Gloria Goins presented our Keynote address, “When Good Isn’t Good Enough: How Unconscious Bias Harms Patients During the COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond … Despite Our Good Intentions.” Not only was it our first session, it was also among our top rated sessions. That being said, early results show all of our sessions met or exceeded attendee’s expectations. Not too shabby for our virtual conference shakedown cruise!
On behalf of the Board, I want to thank ASHHRA Executive Director Catherine Carrruth and the ASHHRA staff for doing such an outstanding job switching from live to virtual. Kudos also go to the Annual Conference Education Committee, chaired by Cindy Ruffing, for turning on a dime to pare down and curate the learning sessions. And thank you to our attendees for your enthusiasm, flexibility, engagement and general spirit. It was great to be with you, virtually. Well done, everyone!
If you missed this year’s conference, fear not. You can access the on-demand sessions and earn CEUs by registering at ASHHRA.org/VIRTUAL20. For those who attended the virtual event, remember that you have access to all sessions on-demand until February 2021, and you can earn an additional 14 CHHR, SHRM and HRCI credit hours on top of the 7 you earned during those two days. And don’t forget that ASHHRA21 is scheduled for April 25 – 28 in Denver. Add it to your calendar today and let’s keep our fingers crossed for a face-to-face conference in Denver. I have been told Colorado is beautiful in the spring, so start planning now and have a great September!
