Dear HR Colleagues,

This year as President of ASHHRA has simply flown by. What an absolute honor it has been to serve this incredible organization. I am so proud of the vision and dedication of the Board and Staff. Our healthcare HR family deserves a powerhouse association to surround and support them. ... And wow, has ASHHRA delivered!

From conference, to webinars, white papers, executive sessions, podcasts and networking: There just is no end to what we can do together. I believe one constant is change, and like many of you, this year has been a year of big change for me. I was blessed to spend time reflecting on what’s important to me and what has remained true is my passion for serving in healthcare, building culture, and working with people who are authentic caring professionals who want to make a difference every day. This is not something to be taken for granted, rather opportunities for each of us to show up every day and champion our teams and the communities we serve.

When we serve in healthcare HR, ASHHRA provides this unique network of purpose-driven professionals who can partner and raise each other up. Thank you for being that network for me and many others. Your partnership makes a difference for so many!

Before I sign off, here are a few quick notices:

  • Mark your calendars for ASHHRA24: April 14 – 16 in Fort Worth, Texas. Registration and hotel rates are available now, so you can budget accordingly.
  • Make sure your membership and information are current by logging on to your ASHHRA profile at Connected.ASHHRA.org.
  • The deadline to sign up for the Global Job Architecture Practices Survey is Friday, Dec. 15. Participate in the survey to receive a healthcare-focused report.
  • Save the date for Healthcare HR Week 2024: March 11 – 15. Check back on the ASHHRA website for more to come.

Please join me in welcoming Tracy Clarke, the incoming President and Nicole Schell, the Vice President. These two women, along with the Board and Staff, will continue to drive the vision of ASHHRA and relevant service to YOU, our most important priority. I want to thank you again for the opportunity to lead this wonderful organization. It has been a blessing and an honor.

In gratitude,

Becky Rauen, MA, CHHR, SHRM-SCP
2023 ASHHRA Board President
