Welcome to the premiere issue of the ASHHRA Conference Show Daily eNewsbrief, dedicated to bringing you all the daily happenings of the ASHHRA 49th Annual Conference and Exposition—directly from Washington, D.C. Over the next week, stay tuned for conference highlights, learning session summaries, keynote speaker reviews, the exposition, and all the exciting activities occurring during the show.

President and CEO American Hospital Association (AHA)

Richard J. Umbdenstock became president and chief executive officer of AHA in 2007. He has written several books and articles for the health care board audience and has authored national survey reports for the AHA and its Health Research and Educational Trust and for the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, serves on the boards of the National Quality Forum and Enroll America, and co-chairs the CAQH Provider Council.

During the Motivational Breakfast, a distinguished panel will explore the importance of employee populations reflecting the patients they serve and the importance of having an inclusive culture in health care organizations, not just from a cultural standpoint, but from generational dynamics, experience, and practice. The ASHHRA annual conference has been approved by the HR Certification Institute for review for 18.25 general recertification credit hours, 15.0 strategic business management recertification credit hours, and 1.5 California specific recertification credit hours.
