HB 397, passed and signed by the Governor, is now in effect. The new law significantly amends and reorganizes current law governing the conduct of county meetings and responding to requests for public documents. Since a number of the changes regarding both meetings and records have immediate application, counties officials and staff should carefully review the new law.
